A necromancer can resurrect the soul of a recently departed victim and bind the
spirit for his own uses.  Outlaws can bind empty player corpses. The undead 
spirit will confer the following enhanced visions based on level of the deceased 
and caster level (averaged):

 5-10:  detect magic, detect good
 11-20: as above, plus sense undead
 21-30: as above, plus infravision
 31-40: as above, plus detect invis/see hidden lifeform
 41-50: as above, plus see hidden life
 51+:   as above, plus sense object
